3 best sources?

[edit]

Hi, Pakan244! Can you tell us which three (and only three) of these sources best meet all of the following minimum criteria?

We also need at least two of them to be simply local to the subject's area or in niche publications. Thanks! Valereee (talk) 17:14, 14 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

@Valereee: Please find below my assessment on 3 sources in the article in source assessment table. Ckfasdf (talk) 21:20, 14 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
Source assessment table
Source Independent? Reliable? Significant coverage? Count source toward GNG?
Yes Independent of Richeese Factory; not promotional material or a press release from the company. Yes Published by a national news outlet (Tempo), national level source; reliable source with editorial oversight; has editorial integrity and is not affiliated with the company. Yes Thorough report on Richeese Factory, including report of ownership of the company. Yes
Yes Independent of Richeese Factory; not promotional material or a press release from the company. Yes Published by a national news outlet (CNN Indonesia), national level source; reliable source with editorial oversight; has editorial integrity and is not affiliated with the company. Yes Thorough report on Richeese Factory, which covers the chain’s origins, ownership, expansion across Indonesia, product concept, and positioning in the local fast-food market. Yes
Yes Independent of Richeese Factory; not promotional material or a press release from the company. Yes Published by a national news outlet (Liputan 6), national level source; reliable source with editorial oversight; has editorial integrity and is not affiliated with the company. This table may not be a final or consensus view; it may summarize developing consensus, or reflect assessments of a single editor. Created using {{source assess table}}.
Additional note: Of the 12 sources currently cited in the article, only two are not independent of the company (aeonmall and press release); the rest come from independent news outlets and should meet GNG requirements. Ckfasdf (talk) 21:30, 14 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, @Ckfasdf. It looks like you might be in Indonesia? Always so helpful to find people who are familiar with the media in a given area! So, to me the writing in those articles is not typical for what is generally seen in news stories in English media: "delicious cheese dipping sauce" etc. Is that maybe just a cultural thing that doesn't indicate this is some sort of opinion piece? @Praxidicae, are you satisfied? If so, I think we can accept this draft. Valereee (talk) 11:36, 15 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Valereee: Yes, I am based in Indonesia. Richeese Factory is one of the largest fast-food chains here, comparable to McDonald's, so it really does not make sense for it not to have an article on enwiki. If you do not prefer the source that mentions "delicious cheese dipping sauce", there are other sources already used in the article that do not have that kind of wording. If needed, I can also make a source assessment table for all the sources in the article. Ckfasdf (talk) 14:34, 15 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
I'm actually satisfied, I suspect it's a cultural difference in Indonesian journalism to maybe use complimentary language even in news pieces about food. It's a cultural thing in many countries' journalism. I'd like to make sure Prax is good with it, but otherwise I'm good. Valereee (talk) 14:40, 15 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
Okay, no objection from Prax, I'll accept. Valereee (talk) 17:19, 20 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
