Editing article to remove promotional language

[edit]

As AFC editor, I can see notability and sourcing (lots of them) but it does come across as a CV / résumé and essentially an art of promotion, rather than the science of a crisp encyclopedia entry. So two run of the mill speeches - this is what a deputy governor will do on a day to day basis - resulted in no fewer than 9 sources, none of them about the subject. I've left those speeches in, but in summary form and just a few sources. It also had the tone of a WP:COI but there is no declaration this. Consequently rather than decline the article for being not being encyclopedic, I have made a lot of edits to the article to reduce to a more concise entry, with fewer lists of works by the subject in particular. It's OK if another editor wishes to restore some of this material if it really is key to understanding the subject's career. ChrysGalley (talk) 11:55, 24 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
