Birth date and notability concern

I added from a primary source, the World War II draft card database. I think that is adequate from a WP:PRIMARY perspective, and it is corroborated by other primary sources (SSDI and others).

To be frank I find this subject's notability to be borderline. However, I recall reading about him in the Gay Talese book "The Kingdom and the Power," and I see there are references to him in sources other than the NY Times. I completely disagree on the notability part. A 5000 dollar journalism award was established in his name, he was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize four times, AND "The Peter Kihss Award" was established following his death - one that is still awarded to this day! Some coverage of people getting the award: SAG-AFTRA, NYT, NY Daily News etc. He is definitely notable. When I wrote this article, I was only 2 months into editing, and did not know of/had access to many sources, hence why some may be missing. jolielover♥talk 17:29, 20 November 2025 (UTC)

More sources: Nieman Reports, The late Peter Kihss was one of the greatest American reporters of the 20th Century; New Yorker, The star reporters, like Homer Bigart and Peter Kihss, occupy the front of the newsroom; CUNY, Kihss, a legendary Times reporter. These are a few things I found from a simple google search showing that he clearly is held to a high regard and is influential in 20th-century American journalism. I was about to go back and retract what I said about notability, as Newspapers.com shows ample sourcing. So please disregard. Yes, the article is a bit thin, and does need expansion. Coretheapple (talk) 17:38, 20 November 2025 (UTC)
