Peng was the only fellow-villager of Mao Zedong in the People’s Liberation Army.” Issues: Overbroad/likely false as written (implies no other PLA member hailed from Mao’s area). Per WP:V and WP:NOR, we shouldn’t state unverifiable absolutes. “Fellow villager” (同乡) in sources typically means the Shaoshan/Xiangtan area, not literally the same village; see usage notes in Chinese bios. Avoid geographic inaccuracy per WP:PRECISION. Lead should be clear and neutral per WP:LEAD/WP:NPOV. Proposed replacement (lead-only): “A fellow villager of Mao Zedong from the Shaoshan area of Hunan, he was known as the ‘One-Armed General’.” Alternative (if we keep the uniqueness nuance but narrowly): “A fellow villager of Mao Zedong from the Shaoshan area of Hunan, he is often noted as the only founding senior PLA commander with that hometown link, and was known as the ‘One-Armed General’.” ~2026-95701-7 (talk) 13:29, 12 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
