On the Social Security Death Index, which I accessed through Ancestry.com, there is a Paul F. Bateson, born 24 Aug 1940, Social Security card issued in Pennsyvania, who died 15 Sep 2012. I have no proof that this is the same Paul Bateson but I think it is a good possibility.
