Infobox - commanders and flags
[edit]The infobox is meant to be a summary of the article. It lists four Indonesian commanders or leaders, but only one of these is mentioned in the article (Colonel Witarmin). There seems to be a disagreement over whether the infobox should say that Colonel Witarmin was killed during the operation - but no citations are given for this, and this claim is not mentioned in the article.
There also seems to be a disagreement over whether there should be flags next to the names of the commanders in the infobox. MOS:INFOBOXUSE says that infoboxes should avoid flag icons. But MOS:INFOBOXFLAG says that "Generally, flag icons should not be used in infoboxes ... Situations where flag icons may be used in infoboxes include: Summarizing military conflicts..." I can see that flags are useful in a conflict such as the Gulf War or the First Battle of El Alamein where there were several nationalities on one side, because they help the user pick out leaders from different nations on the same side. But that is not the case here, so the flag icons serve no value.-- Toddy1 (talk) 17:46, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
