OpenSSL with a graphical user interface

[edit]

I saw the external links "Graphical user interface for OpenSSL in the browser". Would it be interesting to have a short section listing the existing software which offer a GUI for OpenSSL? Cryptocollector (talk) 21:10, 14 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Insecure algorithms

[edit]

There should be a note regarding insecure algorithms so they can be avoided when especially when generating passwords [1] "insecure, or are no longer in common use such as MD2 or RC4." DGerman (talk) 17:54, 4 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Apple Mac OS deficiency

[edit]

It should be noted that Apple's mac OS Tahoe provides an old version (LibreSSL 3.3.6) of openssl which does NOT support ANY secure algorithms. Use homebrew to install OpenSSL 3.2.0 23 Nov 2023 (Library: OpenSSL 3.2.0 23 Nov 2023) DGerman (talk) 17:54, 4 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

WebAssembly ports of OpenSSL

[edit]

Would it make sense to add here a small section about full ports of OpenSSL to wasm? With a wasm binary OpenSSL can run in the browser.
