Muskegon River Tributaries

This article fails to note that the Clam River is a tributary to the Muskegon. The Clam's source is Lake Cadillac in Cadillac (Wexford County). It flows approximately 51 miles east southeast meandering through Wexford, Missaukee and Clare counties. The Clam drains a watershed west of Cadillac that collects in Lake Mitchell before flowing through a canal that connects it to Lake Cadillac and the Clam.

The note regarding Torch Lake, Elk Lake and the Chain of Lakes is mistaken too. The Clam River and Clam Lake to which it refers are in Antrim County on the east side of Torch Lake. The source of this Clam Lake is the Grass River, the source of which is Lake Belair and the Intermediate River Chain of Lakes. Clam Lake is the source of this Clam River, which is less than a mile long. The mouth of this Clam River is in Torch Lake immediately west of Clam Lake. Torch Lake empties into Torch River, Elk Lake, Elk River and then into Lake Michigan (Grand Traverse Bay) at Elk Rapids. ~2026-23804-06 (talk) 17:06, 18 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
