Chart history is inconsistent

The article states that a certain US radio station claimed (in August 1976) that they would play it "in the spring" [which would be spring '77] but in fact the song charted in the US in April 1976. Pthurmes (talk) 05:32, 15 January 2020 (UTC)

Article says "On the American Top 40 radio program of August 14, 1976, Casey Kasem reported the group's difficulties in promoting their single. Over the winter they had delivered the record to 400 radio stations, 95 percent of which had told them they would play it, but did not. One of those stations, WERC in Birmingham, Alabama, told them that it sounded like a spring song to them, so they would play it but would wait until spring to do so."

I take that to mean that their difficulties were reported in August 1976, and that "Over the winter they HAD delivered the record to 400 radio stations" meant over the previous winter. And therefore the promise to "play it in the spring" meant the spring of 1976. I'll add the word "previous" to reduce any ambiguity. Captain Quirk (talk) 05:28, 6 June 2026 (UTC)
