The BANQ seem to make a difference between The Montreal Witness and the Daily Witness. HEre are two front pages of both newspapers for July 2nd, 1874 ^[1] ^[2]

The daily witness (1874-1893) The Montreal witness (1845-1938)

The nature of both newspapers are quite different as well. The Daily Witness was founded by M Dougall.
