Article title change
[edit]I don't understand the recent article title change from "Media in Syria" to "Mass media in Syria". The article is about media in Syria - print, broadcast and online - and not specifically about "mass media", so the new title doesn't make sense. BobFromBrockley (talk) 12:23, 10 June 2020 (UTC)

Mass media in Ba'athist Syria → Media in Syria – Six years ago, this was the title of this article, and it is now a redirect. As argued above (in "Article title change"), changing from "media" to "mass media" made no sense, since the article covers the media broadly. Now that Assad has fallen, the article needs to be updated, but creating a new article "Media in Syria after the fall of Assad" creates an unnecessary split. "Media in Syria" can include both the historical situation and the present one. Lova Falk (talk) 07:50, 5 August 2026 (UTC)
PS. I have already started a section about media after Assad's fall. Lova Falk (talk) 07:52, 5 August 2026 (UTC)
