I heard the MC5 play

... on the evening of 22 November 1969 at Michigan State University at an amphitheater-shaped venue (probably MSU’s Red Cedar amphitheater). It was a hard-rock "wall of noise" performance and (of course) included "Kick Out the Jams, MF-ers!" Personally, I thought they sucked, and apparently so did more than half the audience, who walked out early on while a group of faithful head-banger band followers danced wildly in front of the stage.
