Goblet?

Nice to have this, but do we have any sources in English using "Lyon goblet" (which in English should be upper-case if it is a proper name)? Comparable cups like the Warren Cup ju7st use "cup". Normally, a goblet in English should have a stem. Johnbod (talk) 04:28, 11 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Johnbod: I think you might be right about "goblet". Almost all French sources use "gobelet", which I assumed was a straightforward cognate, but which according to Google means "Récipient pour boire, généralement plus haut que large et sans pied" (A drinking vessel, more tall than it is wide and without a stem), which isn't very much like the English meaning. The only sources I have access to in English (Bober, Olmsted and Strong) all call it a "cup". I'll move the article, without capitalising it, because as far as I can tell it is not a proper name.
