GA review – see WP:WIAGA for criteria

1. Is it well written?

   A. The prose is clear, concise and understandable to an appropriately broad audience, and the spelling and grammar are correct:

   "Appelbaum also found recordings of Duke Ellington playing with Django Reinhardt in 1946." - The wording makes it unclear whether Appelbaum found the recordings in 1946 or they recorded it in 1946.

   "He played with Kenny Dennis (a drummer) and Wendell Marshall (a bassist)." - You don't need parenthesis. You could say something like "He played with drummer Kenny Dennis and bassist Wendell Marshall". All fixed

   Other than that, everything is fine. I was bold and fixed minor things myself.

   B. It complies with the manual of style guidelines for lead sections, layout, words to watch, fiction, and list incorporation:

2. Is it verifiable with no original research, as shown by a source spot-check?

   A. It contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline:

   Refs are laid out correctly.

   B. Reliable sources are cited inline. All content that could reasonably be challenged, except for plot summaries and that which summarizes cited content elsewhere in the article, must be cited no later than the end of the paragraph (or line if the content is not in prose):

   C. It contains no original research:

   The claim "Appelbaum got his first job at the Library of Congress while still in college in 1979." is unsourced. All fixed

   D. It contains no copyright violations nor plagiarism:

   Earwig's highest percent was around 24%, but that's due to quotations. No copyright violations here.

3. Is it broad in its coverage?

   A. It addresses the main aspects of the topic:

   The article should talk about his role as an archivist other than "Besides being and archivist...". You should include what he did as an archivist at the library Fixed (This source should help.)

   B. It stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail (see summary style):

   Shouldn't his work as a DJ for WMUC-FM, WDCU, and WPFW be in the "career and discoveries" section? I would say merge the sections together and name the entire thing "Biography", using sub-headings separating his early life and career. I would also say make "discoveries" it's own section. Fixed

4. Is it neutral?

   It represents viewpoints fairly and without editorial bias, giving due weight to each:

   article is netural; it doesn't lean towards one viewpoint or another.

5. Is it stable?

   It does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute:

6. Is it illustrated, if possible, by images?

   A. Images are tagged with their copyright status, and valid non-free use rationales are provided for non-free content:

   There are some things that need addressing. Please fix these things. My biggest concern is that the "Career and discoveries" section feels jumbled, with points about his discoveries and career being scattered about.    Everything is fixed. There were some issues I didn't mention here, but rather in the unofficial discord. I was talking with the nominator through the discord (it made it easier).
