Does not add up

[edit]

Even when you count all current total area sizes of Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark it comes around 1.2m sq km so how did they get the 2.8m sq figure??? RickyBlair668 (talk) 16:45, 25 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

That figure most likely includes whole of Greenland. But I don't think an exact area makes sense for this period, as the borders were very fuzzy. I've removed it from the infobox. Jähmefyysikko (talk) 17:37, 25 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
If all Greenland was added then you will have more than 3m sq km plus the colors showed very small parts of Greenland ~2026-18864-25 (talk) 17:45, 25 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
Who knows? In any case, it is WP:original research. Jähmefyysikko (talk) 17:54, 25 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Inclusion of the Kalmar Union's flag?

[edit]

TylerBurden,

While looking through the Kalmar Union's edit history I've noticed that you and others have routinely removed the flag of the Kalmar Union which can be read about here. I've noticed that most people likewise have not provided a source to the image or verification of the flag as it is described by the country's leader, Erik of Pomerania.

The flag appears in the majority of the Kalmar Union's articles in Wikipedia's various languages. I thought it would be appropriate to ask for this flag to possibly be included in the articles infobox first, rather than make the edits myself just to have them removed by you or other editors. I know that MOS:INFOBOXFLAG says that "generally" speaking flags should avoided in infoboxes, however, I think they are referring to templates, such as Kalmar Union, rather than official country flag at the top of the infobox. The flag is scantily sourced/ verified, which I assume are the reasons it has been removed routinely? If this flag and the corresponding coat of arms could be used in the article's infobox, I think it would possibly improve the page visually speaking. Thanks for your time. From what I can find it's an unofficial flag, with the best source apparently being Erik's description, given that information, I think it would be better to include it outside of the infobox, which is usually reserved for clearly established official flags. The gallery might be a good place? TylerBurden (talk) 10:21, 5 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Tyler,
Agreed. Thank you for the pointer. Regards. HappyHistorian1862 (talk) 13:01, 5 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
