Addition of images on infobox
[edit]I would like to know why to place images of artists in the infobox about music genre? Who chose which artists would be notable here? There aren't Big Bang, BoA, and others. In addition, what is the point of this type of edition that doesn't bring improvements to the article? In pop music article, we haven't images of Michael Jackson and Madonna on infobox, in rock music article we haven't images of Elvis and Beatles. This is because the articles already mention the notable artists.
Please consider removing this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 191.19.164.94 (talk) 191.19.164.94 (UTC)

"reliance on English phrases"
[edit]This terminology ultimately has a patronizing "us-vs-them" tone, as if the artists are desperately using English to drive sales, rather than remixing black, Caribbean, trap, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Western, country, EDM, etc influences all at once. The Kpop artists use English phrases to create a trans-pacific slur, similar to as pioneered by Love Psychedelico, it isn't a desperate crutch they're using to earn cash. It's an art, not a computer generated algorithm. -~2026-24852-53 (talk) 21:25, 10 May 2026 (UTC)
also note that WP privileges this total twat-comment "your music is global just as ours" just because it's British foreign secretary. i'd like to play him an afro-carribean jam created by an eton grad of Bengali origin and ask him how much is his music, their music, our music, your music etc. such a pathetic addition to this entry. -~2026-24852-53 (talk) 18:02, 12 May 2026 (UTC)
Business information outdated
[edit]The business information is outdated and excessive. The graph showing 2008 to 2020 only shows three companies, not Hybe. Travelmite (talk) 04:38, 24 May 2026 (UTC)
Here is a table, which has been consolidated:
| Year of establishment |
Record label | 2008 | 2010 | 2011 | 2012 | 2013 | 2014 | 2015 | 2016 | 2017 | 2018 | 2019 | 2020 | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1995 | SM Entertainment | 42.5 | 87.1 | 129 | 241 | 268 | 286.9 | 290 | 314 | 329 | 551 | 592 | 521 | [1] |
| 1996 | YG Entertainment | 16.5 | 51.8 | 70.3 | 96.9 | 116.6 | 156.3 | 170 | 286.4 | 321.5 | 242 | 228 | 229 | [2] |
| 1997 | JYP Entertainment | 3.1 | 9.1 | 17.8 | 13.5 | 21.4 | 48.5 | 50.56 | 69.5 | 94 | 111 | 139 | 129 | [3] |
I've truncated the table to show figures for once every four years. The sources for this data go far beyond the 2013 date in the archive, which no longer can be found. There is inconsistency in the reporting, the table should not be regarded as reliable. Travelmite (talk) 06:01, 24 May 2026 (UTC)
