[edit]IP, could you kindly explain why you're so determined to completely memory-hole the existence of Flankers, an award-winning short film that's available for viewing on Vimeo, from this article, when it isn't even being memory-holed from his (your?) own official website? Like, why would we not want this article to even mention a significant and award-winning short film, especially one that got him (you?) a really nice piece of WP:GNG-worthy coverage that's actually one of the strongest and most detailed sources in the entire article? Like, what's the problem with it? Bearcat (talk) 14:27, 14 August 2025 (UTC)
- I have come to find out, some of my co-producers via my production company and people related to a new film tried to edit my Wiki pages. I have no desire to remove Flankers from my page (I am Justin Oakey). Though, there was other acclaim outside of the small NSI online festival listed (such as Best Canadian Short at the Edmonton International Film Festival - which is not mentioned).
- The page does not have to be protected. I have taken sole control of this wiki login and have no desire to edit the page outside of fact-checking. Thank you! Blackriverpics (talk) 02:42, 22 August 2025 (UTC)
- When it comes to awards, we're only interested in mentioning awards that can be reliably sourced to media coverage. That is, if a newspaper, or a magazine like Playback, reports it as news that your film won an award, then we can include that in the article — but we have no way of knowing about any awards that don't get reported as news, so we only list awards that got covered by media as news. I'm not suggesting that you're doing such a thing — I know that the Edmonton Film Festival is a real thing — but we have had filmmakers claim to have won fake awards that don't even really exist at all, which is why we have to be really strict about sourcing award statements properly. So we can really only list or mention awards that can be sourced to media coverage to verify that they're significant.
- I didn't come across a media source reporting that you won an award at EIFF — if you know of one we missed, then we can add EIFF, but we can't add it without a media source. Bearcat (talk) 03:25, 22 August 2025 (UTC)
