Subject of article requesting review of reverted edits — citations provided

Request for neutral editor assistance — complete revised article ready

[edit]

I am Charles Casper Peyton (User:Charlescpeyton), the subject of this article and registered trademark holder of Jeff Stryker™ since 1986.

Following guidance from User:DonIago regarding WP:COIEDIT, I am posting my proposed revisions here for review and implementation by neutral editors rather than making direct edits myself.

I have prepared a complete revised version of this article incorporating:

  • Corrected opening — actor, director, producer, entertainer — not "pornographic actor"
  • Full Early Life section with sourced biographical detail
  • Complete Cultural Impact section documenting AIDS benefit appearances, fashion, photography, and international appearances — all cited from NPG London, Getty Images, WWD, Out magazine, Artforum, and CBS News
  • Removal of disputed Kulak's Woodshed section per WP:BLP — subject contests accuracy of claims made by third party source
  • Removal of Traci Lords negative quote — undue weight given subject's full cultural record
  • Corrected John Waters quote — Clark Gable not Cary Grant
  • Balanced categories — mainstream film, theatre, music added
  • LGBTQ identity categories removed per WP:BLPSEXUALITY — subject has never publicly self-identified

All sources are from reliable published outlets including the National Portrait Gallery London (ISBN 978-1-85514-400-2), Getty Images editorial archive, Women's Wear Daily, Out magazine, Artforum, CBS News San Francisco, and the Rialto Report.

I am requesting that any neutral editor willing to review and implement these cited improvements please contact me on this Talk page.

Hi Charles, I strongly encourage you to review Tony's note in response to the above thread and refactor this request accordingly. I don't think editors are likely to engage with a request when there are concerns that it was generated by an AI chatbot. Continuing to engage in this manner will, at best, damage your credibility and hinder any productive updates to this article.
If you'd like to properly submit this as an edit request, you have my permission to delete this comment as part of refactoring this request. DonIago (talk) 17:00, 7 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thank you, I am not sure if this was from the start of my attempts but I am doing this alone, trying to follow guidelines and examples etc and not using AI. I see the attempt to change my x to Y (the lead description of my 40 years of work summed up to what I did the first 3 years, failed. So I am working on that now. Thanks but I assure you, I am not using AI after the first warning and I think that is why I am not doing something right but I will get there. Thank you for your courtesy and understanding. Have a great one and I will be back!

Please don't post multiple copies of the same (or substantially similar) requests, especially not in multiple forums. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 18:27, 7 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
I've revised the article on the basis of the complaint raised at WP:BLP/N I'm no fan of LLM generated content but we should take BLP complaints very seriously and, on the merits, the three items raised at BLP/N seem appropriate to edit per the subject's request. I wasn't clear about the reason for the Traci Lords removal in my edit summary but it was obviously WP:UNDUE for a biography of a living person. Simonm223 (talk) 18:32, 7 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Please excuse, I am stumbling my way around while in a learning curve. Thank you for the information and your patience while I catch on again. It is 100% my intent to follow current Wikipedia standards and improve my requests and communication accordingly. A lot has changed, it had been decades since I worked on Wikipedia.
My goal is to ensure the article accurately reflects my full body of work using reliable, verifiable sources and share it with the world as fact. I will revise my proposed edits to better align with Wikipedia’s policies, including WP:BLP and WP:UNDUE. Again, please excuse as I attempt to fast track learn and any help you can provide is much appreciated.
I appreciate the time taken to review and assist with these corrections. Charlescpeyton (talk) 02:44, 14 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Requested Edit, Introduction sentence alteration as introduction does not reflect Jeff Stryker's diverse career

[edit]

Charlescpeyton (talk) 23:08, 10 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Not done. Wikipedia is written by human beings. Regardless, it's not clear what changes you want to make. See also the instructions at WP:COI. Deacon Vorbis (carbon  videos) 01:33, 11 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Charlescpeyton can you provide reliable WP:SECONDARY sources that speak to the breadth of your career? We are aware that there are things you have done that are not pornography but we need a secondary source to establish their relevance to your biography. I note you mentioned Sylvester Stallone on my user talk page as he has done porn as well as other forms of film. In his case the relative significance of aspects of his career is established by the extensive coverage of those elements. Simonm223 (talk) 12:11, 12 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Secondary sources in response to Simonm223

[edit]

Hello Simonm223 and Thank you,

I apologize about the delay, I wanted everything correct and added as many as I could find. Here are some examples beyond my adult career. With a start in adult films I felt it was the same way Stallone did is why I referenced his Wikipedia page. Adult was my foot in the door and the springboard to greater things. I am not trying to bury that history,I just want to List the credit that followed.

I was almost flattered that I was "thought a AI" until I saw I was squashed ;-)

The Theatre I documented from mainstream sources:

The National Portrait Gallery London published a book titled "Gay Icons" (2009, ISBN 978-1-85514-400-2) placing me with Nelson Mandela, Diana Princess of Wales, Alan Turing, Harvey Milk, and Elton John. This is already cited in the article.

Edit request, lead sentence change?

[edit]

Hello Simonm223, Thank you for the addition "as well as acting in mainstream movies" but I was hoping to get all of the credits down, I must have done something incorrectly? Please excuse me if I did, I searched to see what I may have done wrong and I think I closed it too soon and my {{edit request}} didn't go before the four tildes? Again, I am catching up on 30 years of Wikipedia progress, please excuse. I will now formally submit my proposed lead change as an edit request:

Current text: Jeff Stryker (born Charles Casper Peyton, August 21, 1962) is an American pornographic actor who has starred in bisexual, gay and straight adult films as well as acting in mainstream movies. He lives in California.

Proposed text: Jeff Stryker (born Charles Casper Peyton, August 21, 1962) is an American actor, entertainer, model, producer, and director whose career spans mainstream and international film, horror, comedy, theatre, television, fashion, worldwide personal appearances, and adult film spanning more than four decades. He lives in California.

I have already added the Sources for this description in my previous post dated 13 May 2026. Please let me know (if you would be so kind) what mistake sI may be maing or anything I need to do in order to comply with the rules, procedures etc.

This is just the first edit of many I want to make and then on into the following sections as I am starting at the top. And am I doing it correctly through the talk page? Thank you again!

Charles Peyton AKA Jeff Stryker (User:Charlescpeyton) Charlescpeyton (talk) 18:22, 15 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi Charles, I was looking at your lead sentence change request and have some thoughts. I think it should still start off with "American pornographic actor" rather than "American actor" based on the filmography currently listed on the page (36 porn-related films and 4 other/non-porn). I agree with adding "entertainer", and potentially adding "model" if we can find more references beyond being featured (I had only seen one, the portrait by Pierre at Gilles). For "producer" and "director", I would not add these unless there are verifiable sources listing you as such (This may exist already, I have not finished looking through all the links yet). For the "whose career spans..." part at the end, I think rather than being in the lead sentence this would be better in their own subcategories, in addition to or replacing the "selected filmography" section. From a reader's perspective this would help me see your full scope much better than the current "gay and solo", "straight", "bisexual", and "other/non-porn" subcategories.
Please keep in mind I'm not as experienced as the other editors that have replied, I'm still looking through everything so I have not made any changes yet but wanted to give my thoughts for you and other editors to consider! :-) Rattusmischief (talk) 15:54, 18 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
My colleague Rattusmischief is correct in that any of these titles such as director and producer (or anything which the subject individual is not as well-known for) will need references to act as WP:V, which is a core content policy. I'm going to set the answer parameter of the request template to |ans=y for now until those references can be provided with this request. Regards,  Spintendo  05:37, 13 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
