The hook is OK and as its based on a quote I have added quote marks (she was a keen student as well). The main source is a national newspaper. I would suggest you add "Jamaican" to the hook as it will be assumed (IMO) that she is an American college runner and Jamaican is a bit more interesting. Nevertheless this is good to go.
