Nature of the controversy
[edit]The article does not explain what the controversy was about. Obviously, I am not familiar with the Beaconite Controversy, but it seems to have been about the Inner Light, and something called Justification by Faith. Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL should help. Abductive (reasoning) 18:37, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
1830 date
[edit]Am unclear about the 1830 date at end of the article; best guess is it is a typo as 1830 while Crewdson was a minister in good standing, and several years before the "Beacon" was written. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ~2026-24789-83 (talk) 02:06, 23 April 2026 (UTC)
