[edit]

IbaiIbai (given name) – the internet celebrity, known mononymously as Ibai, is the primary topic for Ibai. Forbes named him the most influential Spanish influencer, he hosts the most viewed internet broadcast, which garnered over nine million concurrent viewers last year, and his social media accounts have tens of million followers. The other holders of the name are cyclists and footballers not known mononymously and less notable. Over the last 5 years, the internet celebrity has received 80% of the views. A majority of clicks on this disambig go to the internet celebrity. I am not familiar with the protocol for moving to mononyms (e.g., Beyonce), but the internet celebrity definitely merits a primary redirect 1brianm7 (talk) 21:38, 4 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

I'm fine with Ibai redirecting to Ibai Llanos as long as it includes a hatnote to Ibai (given name). – Ike Lek (talk) 08:17, 5 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Oh yeah, that's a given (ba dum tsch). 1brianm7 (talk) 13:42, 5 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Per WP:DPT, we can have a look at some standard stats:
  • WikiNav view of clickstreams says that in June, 62 people came to Ibai, and we know that 22 clicked on Llanos, while 24 clicks were filtered (anonymized). This is just ~35% identifiable clicks. The possibility that the remaining half of clicks were scattered on other entries, and not on this one, seems reasonable - so it's not even very likely that it was over half among the clicks.
  • All-time mass views for all linked items indicates there's been considerable interest in one of the other biographies, too.
  • All-time monthly page views for these topics indicates a lot of spikey interest (daily view confirms the bursts of interest are usually short), and the proposed primary topic has only been documented for about six years, so there's some obvious WP:Recentism there.
I think the safer solution is keep the list, but sort it in a way that the common and mononymous usage comes first, per WP:DABCOMMON.
At <50 clicks a month, it's doubtful a lot of readers are affected anyway, we shouldn't be trying to have primary topics at such low volume. --Joy (talk) 14:32, 7 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
This is fair. I don't feel strongly either way, but I do want to note that when I Google just "Ibai", the first result I get is the Wikipedia page for Ibai Llanos, followed by this page. I've watched a bit of Ludwig-adjacent content in the past, which might affect search personalization, so I'd be curious to see if other people get the same result. When I search on a private tab, this article is not even on the first page of results. – Ike Lek (talk) 15:35, 7 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
