  • What I think should be changed (format using {{textdiff}}):
  • Why it should be changed:
  • References supporting the possible change (format using the "cite" button):

I think the main article image of this article "Gyala Peri" (a mountain in southeast Tibet) should be changed, because the photo is of the wrong peak despite the description. It is actually a subpeak of the Gyala Peri Massif, not Gyala Peri itself. I cannot Edit Wikipedia articles due to an IP ban for something I didn't do (besides the point, however), but I have sources I can provide (I have no clue how to use the cite feature though) including images and a link to an article detailing mountain peaks in the region (in Chinese, but you can use Google translate). The article is in two parts:

Part 1; https://zhuanlan.zhihu.com/p/41130667 Part 2: https://zhuanlan.zhihu.com/p/41139234

I know these aren't exactly academic sources but they should suffice for verification purposes. There is very little information on mountains in southeast Tibet to begin with, much less accurate images.

Thank you. ~2026-29530-26 (talk) 19:11, 16 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi,
Sorry for the late answer. Per your links, it appears to actually depict Makandro Ri, not Gyala Peri. I removed it here and on Wikidata, and opened a discussion on the picture's talk page to clarify the situation, since it is used on many other Wikis.
Thanks you very much for the heads up. Kind regards, Albgr03 (talk) 12:27, 6 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
