Gerard Endenburg's development of Sociocracy has influenced the development of other notable models of governance, such as the formation of 3.5 hundred thousand Neighborhood Children's Parliaments (NCPs) in India. "It was in 1978 that Father Edwin John, a social worker and pastor from Nagercoil, first mooted the idea of forming NCPs ... drawing inspiration from the Dutch entrepreneur Gerard Endenburg’s idea of sociocracy or governance for the benefit of society as a whole. ... There are an estimated 3.5 lakh NCPs across India." (Note that lakh is a unit in the Indian numbering system equal to one hundred thousand.)

I'm not editing the article directly because, as a former student and colleague of Gerard's, I believe I might appear to have conflict of interest. But these secondary sources are each in the first page of articles on their respective searches (scholar, news) linked from the notability warning stub. I'd hate to see such a brilliant person's admittedly limited biography dismissed from Wikipedia just because nobody took the time to double check whether there was a reliable & verifiable secondary source supporting the idea that he'd made a notable difference in the world. 73.164.210.32 (talk) 00:29, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
