  • ... that the authors of Five Bullets (2026) and Fear and Fury (2026) were unaware for at least a year that they were writing about the same 1984 shooting for the same publishing house?
Created by Theleekycauldron (talk). Number of QPQs required: 2. Nominator has 80 past nominations.

New enough, long enough. Well-sourced, neutral, BLP-compliant, and no obvious copyright issues. Presentable. Hook cited, short enough, interesting. Book cover images permitted per fair use. QPQ done, no other issues come to mind. Mariamnei (talk) 12:41, 26 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Theleekycauldron and Mariamnei: I assume the quote in the source supporting this hook is "Williams was surprised to learn, a year into his research, that his Goetz book had company." Maybe this is splitting hairs a bit, but this doesn't verify that Thompson was also "at least a year" into writing her book. Can we rephrase to avoid creating that implication? This is a little wishywashy, but that article also says that Thompson pivoted to Goetz around 2021, while Williams started writing "a few years" before 2026, which sounds like Thompson got there first. If they learned of each other at the same time, that would suggest that it's at least a year. I can try and nail down the dates more definitively. theleekycauldron (talk • she/her) 03:12, 27 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
Ah, screw it.

Ended up being shorter, too! theleekycauldron (talk • she/her) 03:16, 27 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
Sounds good to me. Mariamnei (talk) 08:46, 27 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
