• "He participated in the compilation of the Veritable Records of Emperor Xianzong." Could you explain what the Veritable Records are and what the nature of Fei's participation was?
  • He received appointment as first class Hanlin compiler, and assisted in the preparation of the Hsien-tsung shih-lu.
• "He remained there until 1495, when he was appointed director of instruction of the heir apparent." Could you go into some brief detail about the role of a director of instruction?
  • Before its completion, however, Fei took sick leave and returned home, where he remained until 1495, and then he was appointed director of instruction of the heir apparent.
• "During the rebellion, Fei maintained written correspondence with Wang and provided him with several useful suggestions." Can you provide some examples of Fei's suggestions?
  • During Wang's campaign, Fei corresponded with him and made certain helpful suggestions.
• "Under Yang's leadership, Fei, Jiang Mian, and Mao Ji served together in the Grand Secretariat until the spring of 1524." Give the Chinese characters for these names, and for Shi Bao, Jia Yong, and Li Shi.
• Do you have any information about Fei's marriages and children other than his son Fei Mouxian?
