@Esculenta: Mycobank has Aspergillus rubrum as the obligate synonym, not the other way around. Is there a more current taxonomy? awkwafaba (📥) 18:04, 16 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Because of nomenclatural changes brought about by one fungus one name, Eurotium has been synonymized with Aspergillus; see doi:10.3852/12-151. Any remaining fungi in Eurotium are orphaned species (i.e., older taxa that haven't been looked at molecularly, so their real taxonomic placement is unclear).
