Merging Disc (galaxy)
[edit]- I wholeheartedly agree! Merge with a clear conscience! Lusanaherandraton 08:11, 28 July 2005 (UTC)
- OPPOSE, because disc (galaxy) is an article about a component of a galaxy, like bulge, arm, halo, whereas disc galaxy talks about a type of galaxy, where a galactic disc is a standard component of (also bulge, but not arm, since arms are only found in the disc galaxy subtype known as spirals) 132.205.44.134 23:10, 29 July 2005 (UTC)
- OPPOSE. different subjects. mikka (t) 00:02, 14 October 2005 (UTC)
- OPPOSE, the two articles cover different subjects 84.175.216.168 15:24, 16 January 2006 (UTC)
BTW it should be quite clear that a merge would be totally wrong, so could anyone put away the tag?
- I removed the tag. Zzzzzzzzzzz 01:27, 23 February 2006 (UTC)
Spiral and barless spiral galaxies
[edit]
- Aren't spiral and barless spiral galaxies the same thing?

- Nope; barless spiral is a subset of spiral.—RJH (talk) 20:21, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
Should this be 'Disk' or 'Disc'?
[edit]The n-grams go with 'disk', which coincides with consistency at Thick disk and Thin disk. Randy Kryn (talk) 03:37, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
