Isn't this text a bit to Anglo-centric? Surely, comp. lit. exists in other language and cultural spaces too. (E.g. Komparistik in German)

I've made a small correction, to identify H. M. Posnett as Irish rather than as a New Zealander. He did each for a decade in Auckland, but he was born and lived his whole life otherwise in Ireland, including when he wrote his book, so it seems more apt to describe him as an Irishman. Second sentence of Overview

I have deleted it. The sentence misrepresented the linked source. Also, the linked source no longer includes the included quotation. Here is an earlier version of the source that does include it: https://web.archive.org/web/20140308231943/https://www.brown.edu/academics/comparative-literature/about I don't think another sentence is necessary here because the sentence didn't add much (earlier versions of this article didn't have anything there either). If it does feel like something's missing, I think a tertiary source would be best (so as to speak for the whole discipline, not one particular department). Bnenelils (talk) 14:58, 27 May 2026 (UTC)
