Caught Stealing (2025)

[edit]

Since his novel Caught Stealing is being adapted into a movie set to release in August, should it be added to his career page? 1tomatocan (talk) 00:06, 7 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Charlie Huston’s pronouns

[edit]

I’ve noticed that this entire page refers to Huston as a they them, however I’ve seen on other sites Huston being referred to as a he him. There is no evidence that suggests Huston is non binary so I’m curious about how we should refer to Huston on this page. 209.202.60.98 (talk) 21:13, 23 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

I just looked up Huston's website and the bio/intro there is written in the same style as this Wiki article, which suggests that yes, they do use they/them pronouns. Pureriviera (talk) 01:28, 27 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
Also, check out the edit history – on 6 August 2025 Huston themselves edited the article (which explains why the style mirrors the style on their own website) and confirmed that this was to get the pronouns right.
There's a lot else I would edit on this article if I had the time, e.g. organise the career info into chronological order, get some sources for the "citation needed" bits… Pureriviera (talk) 01:32, 27 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
This article, an interview directly states it: https://www.independentnews.com/news/livermore_news/ex-livermorian-turns-book-into-movie/article_cc592bba-3e65-4e9c-bb08-0e3d69739903.html
Also, just so you know, don't refer to people "a they/them". You wouldn't refer to eg Abraham Lincoln as "a he/him". Just say "uses they/them pronouns for Huston". Mrfoogles (talk) 15:58, 5 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Recent edits

[edit]

I made several edits recently:

  • Removed the stale cleanup template dating back to 2008
  • Added "Personal background" section citing a couple articles from this year
  • Saw that editor Cchuston is the person this article is about, and that they had made edits
  • Saw their preference to have the secondary, newer image become the primary, saw no issue with this and made the change
  • Did see that they wrote their own lead section back in 2022 since the tone of the lead section sounded like MOS:PUFFERY and cut back on this, keeping for now to what Mercury News wrote about them and their career

Also, this has more details about Huston that could be included. Erik (talk | contrib) 12:53, 15 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
