Proposed Deletion and subsequent objection
[edit]I received a note from User:Oo7565 about the proposed deletion of this article on my talk page, for reason 'No evidence of notability in either the article or my search before nominating.' I object, and have followed the process to remove the tag. I've reviewed the guidelines in Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies), and I have the following to say about how Calyon Financial is a notable company:
- In the futures industry, no one would dispute the notability of this company. It was well known, and since merging with Fimat to become Newedge, it is even more so. It is a peer to Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan.
- To look for notice from independent sources is very simple, look for "Calyon Financial" in your favorite search engine. There is no lack of independent news coverage, and I'd estimate there are over 1000 articles on various topics relating to Calyon Financial.

'single source'
[edit]This article was flagged as having a single source. It used to have more, then this happened. Consider reintroducing those sources (or archived versions of them) and remove the flag. Chabala (talk) 19:08, 28 December 2024 (UTC)
