Reporting Broken Link

It appears that the link at the bottom of the “Benjamin E. Bates” page referencing the “Bates Student” - June, 1878 publication is actually pointing to the “Bates Student” - January 1877 publication instead, which does not appear to contain any information about Oren Cheney’s "Eulogy on the Life of Benjamin Edward Bates". Not a President of the Union Pacific Railroad

This article references Mr Bates as having served as the President of the Union Pacific Railroad, but at a time many years before the Union Pacific came into existence. No source appears to support this role at the Union Pacific regardless of year. However, it has been suggested that perhaps the author of that section intended to reference the "Union Rail-Road Co of Vermont" which was founded in 1847 and therefore would fit the cited timeline. I have not modified the existing article as I have no proof of this being the case, but it is certain Mr Bates was never the President of the Union Pacific Railroad.

Thank you for pointing this out, I see an article from The New York Times that seems to link the subject to a Boston-based Union Pacific Railroad in 1869, so perhaps the dates are erroneous in some way. 2601:646:8081:8100:B135:D0D9:AB07:FBFD (talk) 02:15, 17 May 2025 (UTC)

Disputed Page

There are numerous mistakes and what appear to be fabrications in this article. For instance, I can find no evidence of any "Lewiston Cotton Riots" at any date, at least one cited source ("Chase Johnson") appears to be fake, the source "Johnnett" is misspelled and also not the author of the article cited, and there are many incorrect dates. These have been noticed after a short inspection of the page, calling into doubt the rest of the information on the page. Although I suspect much of the text is accurate, the entire article needs reviewing. Pwebber13 (talk) 12:24, 14 May 2025 (UTC)
