Equipment

[edit]

A equipment part would be nice, but, since I myself know hardly anything about the Belgian army (except that they call their navy the 'Zeemacht', and that they use the FN FNC), I need some help. Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.204.2.118 (talk) 18:29, 16 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Actually, they don't use the term zeemacht anymore... it was changed to marine a couple of years ago and with the last reforms it became the marinecomponent or Naval Component. fdewaele 16 May 2006, 20:37 (CET)

There is a mistake, this is not an Mercedes-Benz Actros!

Can somebody change it, because I don't know if this is only a wrong picture, or they don't have Mercedes-Benz Actros. Like the file mame says it is a Mercedes 1117. Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:8108:413F:C804:C40D:CA12:CA4B:EFC4 (talk) 05:28, 21 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Graphic of the Structure of the Belgian Army

[edit]

I'm currently working on a project to create graphics of the structure of the European Armies. i.e. France. I want to make also a graphic of the Belgian Army, but the information at this point is not sufficient, as the English wikipedia and the official homepage of the Belgian Army contradict each other; so I begun work with the information on the Belgian Army Homepage, but it is completly useless, as there is almost no information there!! Especially: which units are part of the 1st Brigade? What is with the Engineer bataillons- are they part of the Brigades? I need to know which units compromise the Belgian Army down to the Bataillon level before i can finish the graphic. Thanks noclador Preceding undated comment added 23:11, 27 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Redirection

[edit]

Why does the search for "Belgian army" redirect to this article, as opposed to Belgian Army? HaikenEdge (talk) 00:09, 12 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Because they no longer refer to themselves as the Belgian Army. They are now known as the Belgian Land Component because they are part of an overall joint command and support structure. In such an organization, there are components, not separate Army, Navy, etc. force-providers.--Jonesgp1996 (talk) 09:18, 4 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Belgium Armed Forces Structure

[edit]

I believe the Belgium Armed Force's Structure should reflect the way Belgium Government has evolved its Defense as One Force of 4 Components (Land, Marine,Air and Medical) and has moved away from separate services, This is the way of some other smaller European and Pacific nations have been Structured within Wikipedia,

Thank you for your great work, you have brought insight, Knowledge and enjoyment to millions with your contributions  Preceding unsigned comment added by 114.72.41.88 (talk) 10:01, 22 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Formation

[edit]

The Early History section says that it was formed in 1830, After the rebellion. The rebellion ran from late 1830 until 1831, so either the wording or the date needs correcting.  Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.152.198.131 (talk) 10:33, 14 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

Belgian Land ComponentBelgian Army – The Belgian Land Component is called the Belgian Army again as seen on its official website. Mclay1 (talk) 00:08, 2 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Copying over request by Noclador at WP:RM/TR: The Belgian Armed Forces split its unified structure into its separate branches in Jlu [sic] 2024 and all the branches were renamed, including the Belgian Land Component, which again is now the Belgian Army. All other branches have already been moved, with the exception of the Belgian Army. Thank you. Removed from WP:RM/TR to avoid decentralized discussion. I didn't notice it had already been requested at technical. I chose RM because I wasn't sure if there was some niche information about the topic I was missing. Mclay1 (talk) 03:15, 3 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
You're fine—there is no harm in being cautious, opening a discussion, and giving people time to respond. Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 01:16, 4 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
