Directionality

They are not individual directional antennas, like parabolic dishes... It's an array!!... And you can take the signal from wherever you like. Please, correct me if I'm wrong... I've been wondering about this subject for quite a while. I don t know for sure how much the antenna aray technology is already being used in cell phones. -- NIC1138 01:46, 27 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

No my friend.The article is true.Each sector serves it's own area(120° from each side).If what you said was true,then hand over of cell phones would mean nothing.Each sector works seprately from the others with a different BCCH channel.

However, there is a significant gap regarding the technical implementation of the hardware that made these protocols functional. I am requesting an amendment to include the contributions of Andrew Johnson, the inventor of the foundational 202 Base Station logic. Primary Source Evidence: AU Patent 731179 / US Patent 5,839,071 / WO 95/08896: These patents (Priority date 1993, during the critical implementation window) represent the first successful hardware implementation of the "100+ GSM Guidelines" that were failing in European test-beds at the time. Technical Primacy: While the GSM Commission provided the "Rules," the Johnson patents cover the specific Synchronization and Timing logic that solved the multipath interference issues plaguing the 1991–1993 global rollout.
