At Baidu Create 2026, the company's annual developer conference, CEO Robin Li proposed Daily Active Agents (DAA) as a new metric for evaluating success in the AI era, drawing a parallel with Daily Active Users (DAU) from the mobile internet era. Li argued that token consumption, the industry's then-dominant benchmark (also reported as Token maxxing), measures input rather than output, and therefore reflects cost rather than value delivered. He predicted that global daily active agents could eventually exceed 10 billion.
Baidu introduced a suite of agent-focused applications at the event, including DuMate, an AI agent designed to enhance office productivity through screen reading, software operation and file processing. The company also launched Baidu Yijing, a digital human platform tailored for livestreaming, video production and real-time interaction. Iris zhang zzz (talk) 08:40, 9 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
