Promotional bias?
[edit]This article seems to contain a lot of promotion for the Butterworth company. Besides the claim of invention, they appear to be irrelevant to the topic.12.116.62.222 (talk) 15:40, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
- The above comment is ten years old. Since then more content has been added, but there remains a bias, this time in favour of Gamajet (eg. all the images are of this one product line). There are at least a dozen notable suppliers of automated tank cleaning equipment; it seems unjustified to dedicate this article to only one or two of them. Views? - Hello editors,
- I've reviewed the article and noticed several issues with neutrality and reliable sourcing:
- Product specs for both Alfa Laval (Gamajet) and Butterworth are cited from manufacturer sources ([1], [4]), which are self-published. These violate WP:RS and WP:NPOV.
- The article repeatedly highlights Gamajet's benefits (e.g., reducing confined space entry), yet the citation used ([9]) is a general OSHA page that does not mention Gamajet. This is misleading.
- Three product photos in the article exclusively feature Gamajet-branded equipment, which creates an appearance of promotional bias.
- Statements such as "widely used" and detailed technical specifications are not backed by third-party or independent sources.
- The article dedicates a large amount of text and image space to only two vendors, which may violate WP:UNDUE.
- Suggested edits:
- Replace marketing claims with neutral descriptions (e.g., “Some rotary impingement systems are designed to reduce confined space entry”).
- Remove or reword all vendor performance specs unless backed by third-party industry sources.
- Consider replacing at least one Gamajet image with a neutral schematic or unrelated tank cleaning machine.
