Did you know nomination

[edit]

  • ... that decades after she threw a pie at Oscar de la Renta to protest his use of fur, an advice columnist said she had "no regrets"?
  • Source: "Taking her anti-fur message for Oscar de la Renta straight to the top, an animal-rights activist smashed a tofu cream pie into the designer’s face Tuesday as he signed autographs in suburban Portland.... People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals claimed responsibility and identified the woman as Alison Green of Portland. The group is upset with De la Renta for using animal fur in his lines of clothing." (Chicago Tribune, 1997) "I write all this with a very specific brand of professional expertise on the topic, because for a job in my 20s I pied several public figures to protest animal abuse. No regrets, still proud of it....(That’s fashion designer Oscar de la Renta in the back. That’s his security team closing in on me.)" (Alison Green, Ask a Manager, 2024)

General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
    QPQ: Done.

Overall: Article was created on 9 September 2026 and is 622 words (3,954 characters) in length. It is fully-sourced, neutrally worded and presented, and free from plagiarism (per Earwig results). The hook is cited and interesting, although I would suggest linking to Oscar de la Renta and maybe using Green's name explicitly, instead of vaguely referring to her as "an advice columnist". QPQ is done. Approved. Grnrchst (talk) 12:54, 9 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

    • Thanks, I prefer not to link de la Renta since he is fairly well known and I don't want to divert views, but I'll add ALT0a: ... that decades after she threw a pie at Oscar de la Renta to protest his use of fur, advice columnist Alison Green said she had "no regrets"? "Cleaned up"

    [edit]

According to a Washington City Paper investigation, Green "clean[ed] up" after allegations from employees of sexual harassment by Kampia but said she never received "formal complaints" against Kampia.

I'm afraid that just writing "cleaned up" might be a WP:BLP issue because that phrasing can encompass a wide spectrum of behaviour, including speaking in the accused person's defence, shielding them from consequences, or more sinister actions she is not accused of like intimidating or firing victims. (Per WP:BLPSTYLE: do not label people with...terms that lack precision)
Would it be better to just write: A Washington City Paper investigation criticised Green for her handling of sexual harassment allegations against Kampia? The next sentence already says she regrets standing with him. Helpful Cat🐈‍⬛ 12:50, 10 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

    Sure. Dclemens1971 (talk) 13:03, 10 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
