I remember Alan playing for Everton in the late 1950’s, he scored the winning goal in a 1-0 win versus Leeds Unt.at Goodison Park. I think he left at the end of that season, Johnnie Carey was manager of Everton at the time. I often wondered where he went to after leaving Everton although I knew he had gone to Arsenal without playing for them so he must have had the potential to be a good player.
