Hi, review to come. Canary757 (talk) 16:56, 22 February 2026 (UTC)
- Cool cool, I said I'd take on this as nom as Alavense is not currently about. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 19:08, 22 February 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for stepping in. Hopefully @Alavense will return one day as their edits are missed. Earwig copyvio check is fine (a high of around 15%). Page is neutral and stable. Canary757 (talk) 19:40, 22 February 2026 (UTC)
- QF
- What was the score for the Doherty match?

- Semi-finals
- In the next, he played a long pot on the green ball and screwed back for the brown to win the frame and go 10–4 ahead. The BBC praised the shot as a "contender for shot of the championship." Unless this was officially shot of the championship, does this need to be mentioned?
- Semi-finals
- Agreed. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 20:17, 24 February 2026 (UTC)
- On the next day, Swail followed' I think The following day, works better personally
- Changed Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 20:17, 24 February 2026 (UTC)
- O'Sullivan, despite miscueing on his first break, took frame 26. Swail reduced the deficit Probably can drop the 'despite' WP:WORDSTOWATCH
- Agreed Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 20:17, 24 February 2026 (UTC)
- Higgins then equalised and won two more frames Maybe change to levelled?
- Final
- In the next frame, O'Sullivan could have left Higgins requiring two snookers, but missed a red instead and allowed Higgins to make a 65 break to come closer at 14–17. This sentence is really clunky and I think it can be easily misread so a copyedit would benefit it.
- Final
- Reworded Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 21:49, 24 February 2026 (UTC)
- O'Sullivan claimed his maiden world title and a prize of £250,000. He dedicated the win to his father, who was serving a life sentence in prison. "It will probably mean more to my dad than it does to me," he said. I'd put the 'he said' before the quote here.
- changed Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 21:49, 24 February 2026 (UTC)
- and the same for the next quote by Higgins.
- took the frame in the end in the end can be trimmed
- Thanks. Canary757 (talk) 07:42, 23 February 2026 (UTC)
- Lead and Overview
- Let's unlink Wales in the lead per WP:SOB
- It was the 24th consecutive year that the World Snooker Championship was staged at the venue. If it was first held in 1977, that's three editions in the 1970's, 10 in the 1980's, 10 in the 1990's and two (2000 and 2001) in the 00's so isn't this the 25th consecutive year?
- Lead and Overview
- Thanks. Canary757 (talk) 07:42, 23 February 2026 (UTC)
- My word you are right. The last one that is right is 1990. A few other events are off. It's back right again by 2010. I'll change for this article. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 21:56, 24 February 2026 (UTC)
- Minor quibble. They were joined by the 16 successful players from qualifying rounds, I guess for some players (youngsters for example) reaching the final round of qualifying could be seen as a success of sorts so I would reword this slightly. It reads better in the format section.
- Changed Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 20:12, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
- First round
- but Harold made two half-century breaks as he won five frames on the trot to clinch victory. is on the trot a little idiomatic?
- First round
- Changed Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 20:12, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
- Second round
- Despite making two centuries, King I think this needs rewording to remove despite
- Second round
- Agreed Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 20:12, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks. Canary757 (talk) 13:49, 23 February 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for making some changes.
- Hunter vs Roe. 55 break before the 108 may not have been by Hunter?
- Thanks for making some changes.
- Thanks. Canary757 (talk) 13:49, 23 February 2026 (UTC)
- Good spot. Removed Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 20:17, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
- Refs are reliable, 6 8 10 12 16 25 26 28 29 35 38 39 40 all check out.
- 1st round - Maybe replace a use of duel with contest?
- 2nd round - stop the rot is quite idiomatic?
- Agreed Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 20:17, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
- Article is broad but focused. Canary757 (talk) 08:55, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
- This needs to be changed twice in the overview section too. Apologies for accidentally deleting the review from the talk page, I only meant for the bot section to go. Canary757 (talk) 09:04, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
- That's fine. Some people don't like them being there, but I think it's important for the talk to see an article being talked about. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 10:27, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
