ISOtunes

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

ISOtunes is a global brand of hearing protection and work communication products owned by Haven Technologies, Inc.[1][2][3] The brand manufactures Bluetooth-enabled earbuds and earmuffs[1][4][5] designed to combine hearing protection with audio playback, communication capabilities, and other safety technology features.[4][6]

History

[edit]

ISOtunes was established in October 2015 by Pete Murphy, Elaine Murphy, and Eric Murphy through Haven Technologies, Inc., a family-owned business based in Carmel, Indiana.[7][8][9]

During its early years, ISOtunes focused primarily on occupational applications.[2][10] Initial products were marketed toward workers in construction, manufacturing, landscaping, transportation, and other industries where prolonged exposure to high noise levels may occur.[2]

As Bluetooth technology became increasingly common in consumer electronics, the company expanded its product portfolio.[11] By the early 2020s, ISOtunes had developed multiple product families encompassing both in-ear and over-ear hearing protection devices.[12][13][14][15]

Products and Technology

[edit]

ISOtunes manufactures hearing-protection devices in two primary categories: earbuds and earmuffs.[2][12][16] The company's products are integrated with hearing protection with wireless audio functionality.[6] Some of the products have volume-limiting technology designed to restrict audio output.[16][17]

ISOtunes products are also offered with Noise Reduction Ratings (NRR) and are designed with reference to hearing-conservation requirements established by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).[10][17]
