xFarm Technologies is a Swiss company with headquarters in Manno, operating in the agricultural technology sector[1]. It develops digital farm management tools used by farmers and agri-food supply chains, including a farm management software, xFarm, IoT field sensors, decision support systems (DSS) and supply chain analytics software.[2]
Founded in 2017 as xFarm by Matteo Vanotti, xFarm Technologies took its current form in 2021, following the merger with the Italian company Farm Technologies.[3][4] Between 2019 and 2024, the company raised funding in three rounds, of €3 million[5], €17 million[6], €36 million[7][8] respectively, and expanded internationally, acquiring Greenfield Technologies (Spain)[9] and SpaceSense (France) in 2024[10][11], and Checkplant (Brazi) in 2025[12].
At the time of the Checkplant transaction, the company reported supporting more than 500,000 farms across 8.3 million hectares.[12]
History and international expansion
[edit]
Matteo Vanotti founded xFarm in 2017, in order to support the management of his family's farm in Monferrato, Piedmont. [13] In 2019, the company raised a €3 million funding round led by United Ventures.[5]
