We, Brothers is a 2025 Brazilian short film written and directed by Renata Jones and produced by Jones Pictures. The film is a crime drama inspired by classic film noir, following two former mobsters whose reunion leads to revelations about their shared past.[1]

Plot

Two former mobsters meet at a hideout to discuss their next job. During their conversation, they revisit their past actions and the events that shaped their relationship, until one of them realizes that something is wrong.

Production

We, Brothers was written and directed by Brazilian filmmaker Renata Jones and produced by Jones Pictures. The film recreates the atmosphere of 1940s film noir and was produced as an independent Brazilian production.

The film was produced in English and features a brazilian cast. The production received coverage from Brazilian cultural and cinema publications, including Mídia NINJA, ArteCult and other media outlets.[2]

Release and screenings

We, Brothers was released in 2025 and was presented at film festivals, including the Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival.

The film was also screened theatrically in Brazil and had a gala premiere event in Rio de Janeiro in 2025.[3]

The film was selected for the Vem Ver – Mostra Contínua de Curtas at the Centro Cultural Justiça Federal in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with a screening scheduled for August 18, 2026.[4]

Reception

The film received coverage from Brazilian cinema and culture publications. Articles highlighted its English-language production, film noir influences and participation in the Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival.[5][6][7]
