The Uganda Golf Union (UGU) is the national governing body for golf in Uganda. It is registered with Uganda's National Council of Sports and organises Uganda's national teams and domestic championships.[1] Jackson Were serves as UGU president.[2]

Competitions

[edit]

The UGU organises the annual Uganda Open, a professional championship; the 2025 edition, its 84th, was held at Lugazi Hills Golf & Country Club.[2] In March 2025, the Uganda national team won the Victoria Cup, defeating Kenya 14.5 to 11.5 at the Mt. Kipipiri Golf Resort in Nyandarua County, Kenya — the union's second Victoria Cup title after their previous win on home soil in 2019.[3] Anthony Agaba has served as UGU vice president, and Paul Charles Rukundo has served as vice president overseeing junior golf development.[4][5]

The union has represented Uganda at the All Africa Golf Championship, competing in Zimbabwe in 2024 for the fourth time.[4]
