Introduction

Majority-owned by Mari Energies Ltd. through its subsidiary Mari Technologies, the firm specializes in developing large-scale, AI-ready Data Centres and Cloud Infrastructure. Its inaugural campus, Karakoram-01, was inaugurated in July 2026 in Islamabad’s Capital Smart City area.[1]
The company offers Sovereign Cloud Services, high-performance Computing, Colocation, and Cybersecurity Solutions. By prioritizing data sovereignty and local hosting for mission-critical workloads, Sky47 aims to serve government institutions, financial entities, and enterprises—positioning Pakistan as a competitive hub for secure, locally-hosted digital services.[2]
History
[edit]Sky47 Limited, established in 2024, represents Mari Energies Limited’s strategic foray into Technology and Digital Infrastructure. Held through Mari’s wholly owned subsidiary, Mari Technologies, Sky47 is 60% group-owned and was created following shareholder and regulatory approvals.[1] The company aims to capitalize on Pakistan’s growing demand for secure, locally hosted cloud and AI services.
In January 2026, Mari Energies disclosed via a Pakistan Stock Exchange filing that Sky47 had launched its first cloud and AI computing platform at the Silicon Valley zone of Capital Smart City near Islamabad.[3] By March, CEO Hassan Abbas signed an MoU with NUTECH to foster digital collaboration. The flagship project, Karakoram-01—an 8.5 MW, AI-ready Tier III/IV data centre—was inaugurated on July 24, 2026, by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.[4] A second 5 MW campus, Indus-01, is currently under construction at Port Qasim, Karachi, with completion expected by late 2026.

The company has described its infrastructure as AI-ready and designed for mission-critical workloads. Its Islamabad facility has been reported as supporting high-density computing and scalable power capacity. However, different sources have reported different figures for the facility's planned or scalable capacity. The 24 July 2026 inauguration coverage reported an operational capacity of 8.5 MW, while earlier company and industry descriptions referred to larger future or scalable capacities. These figures should not be treated as interchangeable.[5]

The company has also been listed by the Special Technology Zones Authority as an active technology-zone enterprise in the data-centre and cloud-computing category at the Capital Smart Technology Zone in Rawalpindi.
Partnerships
[edit]In January 2026, Sky47 entered into a partnership with Wateen Telecom Limited. The agreement covered connectivity and digital infrastructure cooperation, including support for data-centre, cloud and enterprise workloads. The partnership was described as involving connectivity to Sky47's Islamabad and Karachi data-centre developments, with planned expansion to Lahore.[7]
Sky47 has also publicly identified collaborations involving Huawei and DWP Technologies in connection with its AI computing infrastructure. The company stated that its Cloud AI Farm was energised on 24 December 2025 and that the collaboration supported the deployment of AI and cloud computing infrastructure.[8]
In 2026, Sky47 also entered into a memorandum of understanding with Multinet Pakistan (Private) Limited covering possible cooperation in data-centre services, cloud infrastructure, artificial intelligence, connectivity, cybersecurity and digital transformation.[9]
Sky47 Limited and the National University of Technology (NUTECH) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in March 2026 to boost digital cooperation, enhance innovation, and support digital transformation in Pakistan.[10]
Major Projects
[edit]- Karakoram-01 (Capital Smart City, Islamabad/Rawalpindi): TThe facility was inaugurated on 24 July 2026. According to contemporaneous reporting, the data centre had an 8.5 MW capacity at the time of its inauguration. It was designed to host cloud, AI and other mission-critical workloads within Pakistan.[11]
- Indus-01 (Port Qasim, Karachi): Sky47 has been developing a data-centre facility at Port Qasim in Karachi. Dawn reported in July 2026 that the facility was planned with a capacity of 5 MW and was scheduled for completion in September 2026. As of 26 July 2026, the facility had not yet reached that reported completion date.[12]
Sky47 has indicated plans for further expansion (for example, a possible third site in Lahore), but as of mid-2026 only the above two projects are publicly documented.
