Rodrigo Banzato is a Brazilian game designer, 3D artist, and art director active in independent video game development (indie gamedev). He graduated with a degree in Industrial Design from the Armando Alvares Penteado Foundation (FAAP) and began his studies and productions in the gaming industry in 2002.[1]
Career
[edit]Banzato began his career in computer graphics and digital modeling in the early 2000s. His technical work includes 3D character modeling, art direction, animation, and game design. Throughout his career, he has alternated between solo independent productions and managing small teams for his original projects.[1]
He also has a history of voluntary and freelance contributions to international productions. Notably, he worked with the American developer Helm Systems, a studio focused on interactive virtual reality applications and advanced simulations.[2]
Awards and recognition
[edit]In 2009, he participated in the Make Something Unreal Contest (MSUC), a global competition held by Epic Games to reward modifications and content created using the Unreal Engine. Banzato won **2nd place worldwide in the Best Customizable Character category**.[2]
Projects and portfolio
[edit]The studio's development portfolio includes titles focused on sci-fi, action, and survival genres:
- Just Madness: Earth Apocalypse 1979: An open-world survival and exploration game set in a post-apocalyptic world, currently in development. The title was initially announced and developed under the working name Max Madness.
- Cyborg3003 (2024): A cooperative sci-fi game featuring a futuristic setting.
- Parallel (2022): An action-adventure RPG set in a surreal world. The title was developed solo and features a narrative choices system based on the "butterfly effect" theory.
- Clown2Beat (2016): An action and combat-focused game.
- Shadows of Kepler: A conceptual sci-fi horror project developed with a focus on immersive space environments.
Community and content creation
[edit]Outside of direct game production, Banzato produces technical content aimed at training new developers through his YouTube channel. The channel hosts behind-the-scenes videos, documentation of game engine processes, and digital modeling techniques.
