Lia Kim (Korean: 리아킴; born May 24, 1984), born Kim Hye-rang, (김혜랑), is a South Korean choreographer and dancer. She is a co-founder of 1Million Dance Studio.[1][2]
Early career
[edit]Kim started dancing in her teens after becoming interested in the performances of Michael Jackson.[3] In the early 2000s she joined the dance crew WINNERS (2003–2006). She later formed the crew INSANE BRAIN (2006–2014).[4]
During this period she competed in street dance competitions and worked as a dance trainer. She taught trainees and artists at several entertainment companies, including SM Entertainment, JYP Entertainment, and YG Entertainment.[5] Among the trainees she worked with were Hyoyeon of Girls' Generation, Min of miss A, and Minzy of 2NE1.[5][6]
In 2012 she established Brain Dance Studio, which she operated until 2014.[4][7]
1Million Dance Studio
[edit]In 2014, Kim co-founded 1Million Dance Studio in Seoul.[1][3] The studio became known for its choreography videos on YouTube, which attracted a large international audience.[1] Kim has served as one of the studio’s main choreographers and instructors.

She has also worked with other artists such as BoA, Girls' Generation, and Wonder Girls.[3]
Television
[edit]In 2023, Kim appeared on the Mnet dance competition program Street Woman Fighter 2 as the leader of the 1Million crew.[8]
