Comment: Too far from an acceptable state. Too much self-analysis, not enough improvement between drafts. Possibly copyright violations. Just too many problems for this to be a good use of time. grapesurgeon (talk) 02:41, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
Khadgi community is an important part of Newa civilization of Nepal mainly concentrated in Kathmandu Valley.
They are descendants of Mahispal Dynasty . Mahispal Dynasty is the second dynasty who ruled Nepal according to Gopalraj Vansaavali. Mahispal Dynasty ruled Nepal after Gopal Dynasty, and before Kirat dynasty. Mahispal means buffalo herders in Sanskrit. Mahispals brought the tradition of rearing buffalo in Nepal from South India where climate in hot and wet which is suitable for rearing buffalos.
Later Khadgi community entered Nepal during Malla dynasty with King Harisimhadev as his warriors. They brought their kuldevata ( Tutelart Deity) "Taleju Bhawani" with them. Son of King Harisimhadev married daughter of King Rudra Malla who was his sole heir, and became the King of Nepal. They enshrined Taleju Bhawani in a temple in Bhaktapur and worshipped her as their Tutelary Deity. Later, Malla and Shah Kings worshipped her as their Tutelary Deity. Khadgi Community still worship Taleju Bhawani as their Tutelary Deity.
