History
[edit]Error 406 Not Acceptable Open Calls
[edit]In 2025, the first Error 406 Not Acceptable open call, Error 406: Tech Fascism Not Acceptable funded thirteen projects focused on demonstrating subversion and resistance to tech fascism. The selection of grantees was determined by a jury comprised of Hito Steyerl, Nora O' Murchú and Sam Lavigne.[3][4] The open call culminated in an online exhibition, 13 Scores Against Tech Fascism, which featured each work and its associated instructional "score," a concept taken from the Fluxus art movement.
In 2026, works from 13 Scores Against Tech Fascism were featured as part of the Antifascism: Now exhibition at Lothringer 13 Halle in Munich.[5][6][7][8]
The second Error 406 Not Acceptable open call, Error 406: Netstalgia Not Acceptable, in 2026, funded eight projects addressing early internet nostalgia and the power structures embedded in the infrastructure net artists use as their medium. The selection of grantees was determined by a jury comprised of Chia Amisola, Olia Lialina, and Vladan Joler.[9][10]
Error 415 Unsupported Media Type Open Calls
[edit]In 2025, the Athens nonprofit VEKTOR and the Madrid-based curator Bani Brusadin were selected for the 2025 Error 415 Unsupported Media Type open call.[11][12]
