Checkmyfile is a British financial technology company which provides consumer credit reporting services.
Launched in 2000, it was the UK's first online credit report service and provides multi-agency credit reports.[2][1]
History
[edit]Checkmyfile was cofounded by Barry Stamp[4] and Peter Kent[5] in 2000. Kent had previously been involved with Egg Banking, an internet bank launched in 1998.[6]
In 2017, Credit Reporting Agency (Checkmyfile's holding company)[7] received funding from Santander, which enabled a management buyout of the founding shareholders.[8][9]
Products and services
[edit]Checkmyfile collates up to six years of history from the three main credit rating agencies (Experian, Equifax and TransUnion).[1][10][11]
Its services include credit score monitoring, identity fraud risk checks and court record checks.[10][12]
