Brooklyn Ross is an Australian radio journalist and newsreader. He is part of the on-air team of Kyle Sandilands Live, a subscription-based online program hosted by Kyle Sandilands.[1][2]

Ross previously worked for ARN Media, including as a newsreader for The Edge 96.1 and as the newsreader for The Kyle and Jackie O Show on KIIS 106.5. He later worked in news talent development for ARN.[3][4][5]

Early career

Ross spent much of his childhood in country New South Wales. He began volunteering at community radio station 2EARFM in Moruya while at high school, where he presented a weekly program.[6]

At 18, Ross began paid work at 2EC on the South Coast of New South Wales. He later became a full-time journalist at the station and worked across the Eurobodalla and Bega Valley regions.[6]

Ross later worked at 2CC in Canberra before moving to Sydney.[4]

ARN and KIIS

By January 2014, Ross was a newsreader for ARN's The Edge 96.1.[3]

Ross joined The Kyle and Jackie O Show on KIIS 106.5 in early 2015 as the program's newsreader.[4]

In 2018, Ross filled in for Kyle Sandilands as co-host of the breakfast program alongside Jackie Henderson.[7]

In 2023, Ross took on an additional news talent development role at ARN. The role involved identifying and developing journalists from ARN's regional network for metropolitan radio markets.[5]

KIIS Breakfast

In February 2026, Henderson took leave from The Kyle and Jackie O Show following an on-air dispute with Sandilands. Sandilands subsequently presented the program with Ross.[8]

The Sandilands-Henderson broadcasting partnership ended in March 2026.[8] Ross remained with KIIS and became part of its replacement breakfast line-up with Mike Etheridge and Intern Pete, with Nat Penfold as producer and on-air contributor.[9]

Ross continued as the program's newsreader during 2026.[10]

Kyle Sandilands Live

On 7 August 2026, Ross left ARN and joined Kyle Sandilands Live.[1][11] At the time of his departure, ARN stated that Ross had worked for the company for more than a decade.[12]

Kyle Sandilands Live began broadcasting on 10 August 2026, with Ross as part of the on-air team.[2]

OX Live

Ross founded OX Live, a Sydney-based digital radio station for gay audiences.[13] The station launched in 2013 and was available online and through radio smartphone applications.[13]

Later that year, OX Live established a studio at the Stonewall Hotel on Oxford Street, Sydney.[14]

Other media work

Ross has appeared as a guest commentator on The Shakeup, a panel segment of triple j current affairs program Hack. His appearances included episodes in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025.[15][16][17][18]

Ross has also appeared as a guest panellist on Seven News programs. In 2024, he appeared on The Latest.[19] He later appeared on editions of The Debrief.[20][21]

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ross published a video encouraging younger adults to consider receiving the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. ABC's Media Watch included the video in an August 2021 segment about media coverage of vaccination.[22]

Personal life

Ross married Damien Dirienzo in Las Vegas in September 2024.[23]
