Anthony K. Chow (Chinese: 鄒果慶) is a Malaysian-born American business executive who serves as chief executive officer of Newegg Commerce, Inc. (Nasdaq: NEGG), an online retailer specializing in computer hardware, consumer electronics, and information technology products.[1]

He joined Newegg in 2006 and later held executive roles at OTTO Group China and Haier Group before returning to Newegg as Chief Executive Officer.[2]

Chow received a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Toledo in 1989 and earned a Master of Business Administration from the UCLA Anderson School of Management in 2010. [3][1]

Career

[edit]

From 2006 to 2008, Chow served as vice president of Newegg's North American operations. He then relocated to Shanghai to serve as chief executive officer of Newegg China, which manages the company's China operations, and of OZZO Logistics, a Newegg subsidiary that provides third-party logistics services.[4]

Chow served as chief executive officer of OTTO Group China, the Chinese division of the German retail and e-commerce company of Otto Group, from 2011 to 2015. From 2015 to 2019, he served as vice president of Haier Group Corporation, where he was responsible for its incubation and microenterprise business and led initiatives to integrate e-commerce and retail operations. [4]

Chow rejoined Newegg in 2019 and was named chief executive officer on March 1, 2020. During his tenure, Newegg's financial performance improved.[5][6] He prioritized relationships with ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, and ASRock[7] as part of an effort to refocus the company on DIY computer enthusiasts[8][9], a strategy that contributed to Newegg becoming a public company.[10] [11]As part of this strategy, the ABS product line was rebranded as Advanced Battlestations in October 2020, supported by partnerships with Intel and Nvidia, whose CPUs and GPUs anchored the revised product portfolio. [12][13][14]

In May 2021, Newegg completed a merger with Lianluo Smart Limited and begame trading on the Nasdaq stock exchange under the ticker symbol NEGG. Chow attended the Nasdaq closing bell ceremony marking the listing. [15]

Under Chow's leadership, Newegg introduced SellingPilot. SellingPilot is a software-as-a-service multichannel marketplace management solution supporting marketplaces including Amazon, Walmart, eBay, TikTok, and Newegg. In 2025, SellingPilot received the Talent Award at the 4th Global Digital Trade Expo.[16] The company also expanded its use of artificial intelligence-enabled shopping tools, including ChatGPT-integrated features within its PC Builder tools as well as AI-generated customer review summaries.[17] [18][19]

Recognition

[edit]

Anthony Chow was inducted into the Digital Ecosystem Hall of Fame in 2020 and received multiple cross-border e-commerce industry honors in China between 2020 and 2021, including the China Cross-Border E-Commerce Person of the Year Award. [20][4]

In 2021, he received the Los Angeles Times CFO & CEO Leadership Award[21] and was included in the Marquis Who's Who in America biographical registry. [22]He was also featured on the cover of China's Foreign Trade Magazine later year, and again in 2022. [23][20]
